(AD) Well-being for mothers and babies course with Soothing baby massage and children’s Yoga guide/Review.

We were kindly invited along to Well-being for mothers and babies course by soothing baby massage and children’s yoga owner, Clare.

Clare is a highly qualified, experienced and friendly instructor who runs courses in infant massage, and yoga classes for children aged from babies right through to young adults aswell as being trained to host the wellbeing course too.

Prior to the well-being course for mothers and babies, we attended baby massage and baby yoga which we loved too!. You can read full reviews below:

  • Classes run Thursday at 1pm to 2:30pm at West Denton Community Centre, Hillheads Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE5 1DN and is a five week course and costs £55.
  • You can get the buses 6 , 7, and 40 to this location.
  • Booking essential – email: soothingbabymassage@hotmail.co.uk

Free parking is available at the centre, all day everyday.

The building is located right next door to west Denton primary school.

The classes are based upstairs, but there is a lift available for use. Aswell as a changing room area upstairs too, this is located in their disabled toilet. If you want to change baby before, during or after the class.

The room is big enough to keep your buggy parked in there too.

You can access the room a few minutes before the class start time, if you arrive any earlier, you could sit in the seating area downstairs.

The course consists of wellbeing techniques for Mam and baby, including movement, relaxation and massage. Along with song and rhymes to keep baby engaged throughout.

Each week there is a different topic including general wellbeing, sleep and technology.

  • How to connect with others.
  • Sleep schedule and preparation.
  • Ideas for a treasure box (affordable play for babies).
  • And how technology can have an affect on yours and babies life.

Classes are filled with useful tips which I found was great information as a first time mum. The class made me aware of topics I may have not came across or unsure on.

We went over topics that give you reassurance on life and also give you an idea of other mums experiences and thoughts which was great and often allowed you to go off and try something new.

In this course, Clare showed us how to do massage techniques that we can do on ourselves aswell as others, which I found helpful.

But if your lucky, Clare might even give you a massage to demonstrate to the others in the group, which is always a bonus!.

and May I say, I received an back massage with story time and I felt like I could picture what Clare was taking about and was super relaxing!.

Clare may also get you to pair up with another mum to practice if you were to feel comfortable enough to do this.

There was also plenty of story time massage for baby too. And Clare will also show you a range of finger rhymes.

Each week, Clare will give you sheets to take home so you can recap over anything spoken about in the course. As the classes can be filled with lots of information.

Clare states that the Wellbeing for Mothers and Babies course is an ideal follow on from baby massage, which I highly agree on.

The course is suitable from 12 weeks to 1 year.

I would advise you to bring a blanket with you, for baby to sit on. Clare will provide a yoga mat during session and also a cushion for mum.

At the end of the course, I received a gift for me (flowers), a book for baby and also a certificate for us both.

We try to update our post as regular as possible but please bare in mind – Events may change details, cancel or be sold out during this time. Also information may change for a company – pricing, location, schedule etc.
