We visited the Hogs Head Inn when staying up that way, it’s a great spot to stop if your travelling on the A1 and also great quality food for being a pub.

The hogs head inn is a fully accessible, family-friendly pub with rooms in Alnwick that welcomes walkers, cyclists and dogs.

Which is perfect for sleeping, eating and exploring Northumberland from.

A silver award-winner in the North East England Tourism Awards, The Hog’s Head Inn in Alnwick is named after the tavern in the Harry Potter books and films.

Just a few minutes drive from Alnwick Castle, which doubled as Hogwarts in the first two boy-wizard films, this modern inn is close to The Alnwick Garden, Alnmouth and Northumberland National Park.

There is free parking outside the pub.

With light bites and pub food as part of the restaurant menu. From cottage pie to burgers, fish and chips and much more.

Aswell as a kids menu too, and highchairs available also.

Outside, there is an wooden fort style playground for the kids to burn off some energy.

This is an pretty decent size with seating space facing the park for parents to relax.
