Ashington Soft-play area at Active Northumberland review and guide.

Ashington Lesiure Centre, Lintonville Terrace, NE63 9JY

We visited Active Northumberland’s; Ashington Leisure centre for their softplay facilities, when visiting family who live nearby.

The parking is free, and they also have disabled parking and places to store your bikes if you cycled in, which would be great in the summer.

On Arrival, we checked in with the receptionist as we had pre-booked online, which is recommended during busier times such as school holidays and weekends. However, you can also walk-in too.

You can also book via their app – Active Northumberland, this will let you know how many spaces are available also.

Soft play sessions are 90 minutes long, bookings are non refundable or transferable.

Soft-play is suitable for children under 8 years old and will be charged £4.50 per child.

Adults go free, However, only allowed two adults per child.

Active Northumberland have 8 softplay areas in total. Other sites are Ponteland, Morpeth, Prodhoe, Berwick, Willowburn, Concordia, Blyth and one coming to Wentworth soon aswell as Ashington.

Ashington’s soft-play are has 4 storeys with a safari theme. This is suitable for children under 8 years old.

On the side of the soft-play, you can store your little ones shoes away.

During the week sessions are from 9am to 3:30pm (last session) and during the weekend – Saturday and Sunday, sessions are 9am to 2pm (last session).

The ground floor is the baby and toddler area. However, I would of said more based for toddlers.

They have a mirror, soft blocks, soft animals to rock on and puzzles around the walls.

There is a storey with a zebra print slide and also a rocking climbing section.

On the top storey, there is a football pitch, which I thought was canny cool for the kids.

Cafe on-site:

There is a cafe on-site, and a seating area within the soft-play.

When ordering food it is contactless.

I have attached menu on the guide below, they of lite meals, hot drinks and also a picnic box for the kids.

However, McDonald’s is also across the road which is the option our little ones took.

They also have a baby changing and feeding area, this area was really clean also. As-well as plenty of disabled changing rooms too.

They also have a swimming pool on-site with a learner section.

They have a library with a large selection of family books.
