This is my first Baby B Edition post.

My mam recently planned me the most cutest and rememberable baby shower to celebrate Baby B with my favourite people.

About the venue: Prima Restaurant

40 – 46 The Side, Newcastle City Centre, Tyne and Wear, NE1 3JA

Prima Restaurant is located in a railway arch under the old high-level bridge, Prima has been a building on Newcastle’s Quayside for two decades and is one of the city’s largest and most popular Italian restaurants. Despite this I had never been before, but was not disappointed.

We booked their upstairs spaces which can seat around 60 guests. This was a free booking, which I was shocked due to how stunningly beautiful the room is and prime location with it being on the quayside.

The room is beautifully lit throughout and also has its own bar too. On the day we had our own waitress for the evening and the staff were incredibly helpful.

They also have patio doors that take you onto an small outdoor terrace space which would be ideal for the summer time. The kids loved playing out there throughout the day too and made it easier for the prams getting in and out rather than using the entrance and struggling on the stairs.

We booked the room via email: enquiry@primarestaurant.co.uk.

Which I received a quick response, when booking we asked if we could visit the room prior to the baby shower, which the management were happy to allow us to do.

This was just to get an idea of the room, how much space we had and what way we could decorate. They were happy enough for us to decorate and helped us pick key areas to set up.

Throughout the baby shower, we had lunch. You can choose from a wide range of pizza and pasta dishes as well as chicken and steaks from the grill with a choice of sauces and meat and fish mains.

In addition to the main menu there are plenty of special deals and offers running throughout the week including an all-day Bottomless Brunch.

My perspective: “Even though it was a Sunday, I can not resist purchasing a carbonara with garlic, it’s my go to when attending an Italians.

The food smelt divine as the waitress laid out the dishes onto the tables. And May I say my pasta tasted just as good, they are a great sized portion and really savoured every bit”.

Menus attached below:

They also have a kids menu, it’s a family friendly restaurant, the menu is above and they also do offer a children’s Sunday lunch also.

These menus are also available for the kids to colour in whilst waiting on their meal. And High-chairs are available too, which is great for toddlers.

Parking: You can park right up the street in the Dean street multi-storey car park – check out details here.

Games on the day:
  • Mummy or Daddy quiz, Baby Bingo and Dear Baby – You can buy these templates from Amazon or Ebay.
  • The waters broken game – pop these into little babies into an ice-cube tray and leave to freeze. On the day, get guest to pop the ice-cube into their drink or an empty cup, and see who can break their waters first, they must shout out loud when done so. These little baby’s were also bought on eBay.

  • Who can down the baby bottle the fastest: Fill up baby bottles with a drink and see who can drink theirs the fastest, this is harder than you think. (Ideally use old bottles or purchase cheap ones).
  • Guess the chocolate: Pop melted chocolate onto the diapers and get your guest to write down which brand they think it is – you can also do this with baby food too.

And then I also had this amazing little keepsake that my mam purchased online – the vest came with two pens and I got each of my guests to leave a little message for Baby B.

Ideas for Gifts: Tik Tok (I would always say go bigger sizes on clothes, little keepsakes are always cherished and remember the parents too!).
