Christmas is just around the corner, with Santa visits to family events and lots of fun. I have put together a list of events and things to do.

“Father Christmas on the Farm” is coming to Walby Farm this December.

Your ticket includes…. a visit to Father Christmas on his farm and a chance to meet his Real life Reindeer, take part in Snow-time and even meet Mother Christmas.

Santa Claus is coming back to Tynemouth Park, Get in the Christmas spirit and meet Santa and some of his festive friends.

Spanish city kick of the festive season on Sunday 21st November by hosting their Christmas tree light switch on event.

Their tremendous glittering tree was awarded the Best Christmas Tree in Europe in 2019*, so the switch on is not to be missed.

Under the grandeur of the Dome, listen to carol singers, sip on mulled wine and eat mince pies, while children are entertained by stilt walkers, bauble decorating and balloon modelling. Let the countdown commence!.

Raby castle also have a trail you can follow through their Enchanted Festive Forest in the Walled Gardens to discover the magical Christmas scenes. The Whitehouse Farm Elves are SUPER Excited to present Santa’s Enchanted Elf Journey.

This VIP Christmas experience will create magical memories to treasure with your loved ones. They have a jam-packed programme of Festive Fun all included in the cost of your experience:

Your journey starts with ride on our Festive Tractor & Trailer to the Enchanted Forest where you will meet the Fun Forest Elves, who will help you on a special search for your very own personalised bauble, as a special memory of the day.

The Enchanted Forest is also home to Santa’s real Reindeer, you can help the Elves feed them and of course there will be lots of fabulous photo opportunities with them too.

This Christmas Santa’s very own Magical Snowy Owl will be in the Festive Forest too. Under the twinkling lights of the Magic Wishing Tree you can make your Christmas Wish, hang it on the tree and the Majestic Snowy Owl will fly your wish to the North Pole.

What Enchanted Elf Journey would be complete without a visit to Father Christmas himself, each paying child will receive a special voucher from Santa to choose a quality gift in the Elves Toyshop. Each paying child will also receive a personalised letter from Santa.

The Festive Tractor Trailer will take you back from the Enchanted Forest to the farm where you can join in with lots of Festive Fun activities, at your leisure.

The BIG Wish LTD presents Winter Wonderland Newcastle at Gosforth Racecourse, From 19th November through to 2nd January.

From Saturday November 13th – Monday January 3rd 2021, The spirit of Christmas will flow through Bamburgh Castle with their spectacular festive event of the year.

Step through entrancing staterooms transformed into a celestial extravaganza, where angels take flight overhead, sending peace, strength and good fortune to all throughout the castle and beyond.

Filled with dazzling décor, towering floral arrangements and wondrous, bejewelled Christmas trees, Saints and Angels at Bamburgh Castle will be a Christmas event like no other and a must-see festive experience in the north of England.

Nightfall 2021 is a magical family-friendly outdoor event which includes a self-guided trail of wonderful light-based artworks complemented by music, storytelling and performance. It also features beautifully decorated dwell areas where folx can relax with some warming refreshments and take part in hands-on workshop activities. It’s the perfect place to connect and share a magical evening experience together in the wintertime.

Santa has made time in his busy schedule to return to The Bowes Museum again this year with their Santa’s grotto event in his enchanted Grotto and getting an early Christmas present. This is £15 per child.

Bowes Museum also has a Christmas Elf Craft Workshop on Saturday 4 December, 10.30-11.30, 12.00-1.00, 1.30-2.30, 3.00-4.00.

This is Limited to 6 family places per session.
Enjoy a relaxed family friendly festive workshop where our sparkly team of elves will show you how to create a magical Elf house and a family of elves or fairies.

Virtual fun day with The Bowes Museum – on Saturday 11 December, 10am – 1pm, this is suitable for ages 4 and over.

Join our merry elves from the comfort of your own home as they guide you through a series of fun craft activities live from the Museum’s galleries at 10am, 11am and 12 noon.

You will create your own Christmas tree decoration, pop up Christmas card and Jolly Snowman inspired by objects in the collection. You will also find out more about how and when these objects were made during the live links.

Craft kits with art materials will be posted prior to this event. This is £5 including postage per craft pack, register by Friday 26 November.

Brewers fayre derwent crossing have the most wonderful event coming up; Santa’s secret breakfast hideout.

Take your little ones for a magical Christmas experience with them for just £9.99.

They have teamed up with their friends in the North Pole to bring you a magical morning of fun and help you create precious memories with your family that you can cherish forever.

The “Return of Rudolph” event is back at the Three Mile Gosforth on Friday 19th November from 5:30pm.

There will be lots of party games and prizes and if the children are really good Santa will make an appearance and hand out a lovely gift to each child.
