Tynemouth Park Guide.

Tynemouth park has a lot to offer families to make the most of a fun filled day out.

Home to their friendly, family run, licensed, Greenhouse, providing fresh home cooking, snacks, ice creams and refreshments; Lost World Adventure Golf, for that fun round of mini-golf; Jungle Wipeout, outdoor soft play area including Kamikazi slide; the all new Pirate Quest Maze and traditional Boating Lake.

Lost world adventure golf:

First up, we headed to the lost world adventure golf, this is based as a land of forgotten time with giant spitting dinosaurs to come and test your skills throughout the golf course. The layout of the course is super cool and makes it more exciting and magical for the little ones especially if they love dinosaurs.

We paid £15 for 2 adults and 2 children which you could pay card or cash. We just walked in on the day. There is no option to pre-book, however they do ask for patients on busy periods as you may have to wait around.

The staff explained over both golf courses, one being the 18 hole and the other 9 hole. And for those skillful enough there is even a chance to win a prize on the final hole. Get the ball in the hole, spin the prize wheel.

We had to grab our equipment before heading over, we each got a golf ball, golf stick and also they gave us a fishing net as there is lakes around the golf site; which we had to save our golf balls from a few times.

All golfing equipment is cleaned and disinfected between uses and each group must stay on their section until the group ahead has moved on.

They also give you a score sheet and a pen for on the day around. However, the girls couldn’t grasp the whole taking turns and wanted to over take each-other every-time. Regardless we had a fun time, the girls learned a new skill, and tried something new.

We laughed as we went around and the girls really enjoyed their game.

Jungle wipeout:

After the game of golf, we headed to their Jungle Wipeout, this is a big inflatable area with bouncy castles and inflatable slides.

Jungle Wipeout will now run 1 hourly sessions starting at 10.00am til 5.00pm with 30min slots in between for intensive cleaning using an Industrial Anti-Viral Fogging Machine spraying Anti-Viral disinfectant.

We paid £10 for both girls for an hour, on arrival you had to pay at the hut, they will take some details from you regarding the child to go over Health and safety and as part of a disclaimer.

For infants it cost £3.50, this is for 4 years old and under.

They have 2 slides, 1 bouncy castle and a inflatable space for infants. Jungle Wipeout would be recommended for age 14 and under, with an exclusive Kontiki Island area for 4 years olds.

Once you have paid your entry, you will get a number for your table area. Snacks and drinks are available from their onsite snack shack too.

The girls had the best time bouncing back and forth on each area, and letting off some energy, whilst we relaxed and had a cold drink.

Pirate Quest:

We never visited the pirate quest but we would love to next time. This is their all new interactive maze and scavenger hunt that will test your seafaring skills.

This is £2 per person and £1 per map, they do suggest at least 1 map per group.

Boating lake:

They also have the lovely Victorian Boating Lake which is home to swans, ducks and other wildfowl along with the Tynemouth model boat club.

You can enjoy rowing around the lake in a traditional rowing boat or Pedalo. It is also a simply a beautiful view to have a leisurely walk around.

They ask you call before you visit to confirm our opening hours on the day. There’s nothing worse than dissapointed kids in the back of your car after a long journey.

The Greenhouse is perfect for any occasion with everything from hot and cold drinks to breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.

They have a traditional fish and chip shop and their own ice cream parlour serving up all your favourite seaside treats to sit in or take away.
