Toby Carvery – what to expect (rules and restrictions).

Ponteland Road, Kingston Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE3 3TY.

Today, we visited the Toby Carvery. We pre-booked online before hand, this was a simple process – choose a date and time and add your details.

On arrival, I showed the staff member who greeted us our confirmation email. He walked us over to our table, and explained over how everything worked.

A mask must be worn when walking around the restaurant unless exempt.

We had an member of staff take our drinks order, soft drinks were able to be ordered via bottle or refill. However for refills you had to ask a member of staff to refill your cup back up.

For food, you had to wear your mask to go over to the chef area. The chef will ask you which meat, vegetables, etc, you would like on your plate as they pop them on.

The chef will then pass over to a member of staff who applies gravy and sauces if you would like. They will then bring your food over to your table along with your cutlery and napkins.

The food was just as good as always, I had gammon and beef, the beef was lovely and tender and the gammon was very tasty.

The beef dipped roasties were unreal, and I love a good homemade Yorkshire pudding.

The overall price was just under £33 pound for 3 adults dinner and drinks which I thought was pretty reasonable.
